The story so far:

Classic girl meets girl meets girl story. Alva and Ruth were friends who played together in a band that was not doing much anymore and so were Alva and Mel. Thus like Cinderella they channeled their frustration and started a side project that was to become more and more like a main project.

Mel and Alva went to a Snail Mail gig and the wailing about what's wrong with the world and everybody digging it like it was sugar on a stick impressed them. Why don't we do that, we also have suffered hardships in an unfair world and witnessed many more. What better addition to the melancholy than an electric cello? So, Ruth was in.
